Strengths
- + Cheapest 800Wh carbon all-mountain eMTB available thanks to post-recall D2C pricing
- + 800Wh battery provides genuine all-day range without anxiety
- + New Darfon IP7 waterproof battery addresses all previous reliability concerns
- + 160mm fork with mullet wheels delivers confidence on aggressive terrain
- + Canyon D2C pricing significantly undercuts competitors
Weaknesses
- − Shimano EP600 motor is significantly less responsive than EP801 — not recommended
- − Battery recall history may concern some buyers despite comprehensive fix
- − ~23-24kg feels heavy on climbs without assist and above 25 km/h
- − D2C only — battery replacement/warranty requires shipping to Canyon
- − EP600 lacks the refinement and instant response of EP801 — big quality gap in lineup
- − RockShox Lyrik base-level fork is underwhelming for all-mountain intent
- − The upgrade to CF 8 with EP801 is essentially mandatory
Motor: The Shimano EP600 is the weakest point of this bike. It's a budget motor that lacks the responsive, refined power delivery of the EP801. On an all-mountain platform where instant torque matters for steep technical climbs, the EP600's slower response is noticeable. Strongly recommended to upgrade to the CF 8 with EP801.
