Strengths
- + Top-spec lightweight trail eMTB at Canyon D2C pricing — exceptional value
- + Fox 36 Performance fork provides premium-level damping and stiffness
- + SRAM GX AXS Transmission delivers precise wireless shifting
- + Bosch SX 600W peak motor with natural feel and smooth 25 km/h cutoff
- + Lightest and most refined of the Neuron:ONfly lineup
- + Full Bosch Smart System ecosystem + PowerMore 250 compatible
- + Carbon frame with aggressive-yet-accessible geometry for versatile trail riding
Weaknesses
- − D2C only — no dealer network for test rides or local service
- − 400Wh battery still the main limitation — extender essential for big days
- − 140mm travel ceiling means it won't replace a true AM or enduro bike
- − Price premium over CF 8 is harder to justify vs diminishing returns
- − Bosch SX cadence dependency unchanged regardless of spec level
Motor: Same Bosch SX motor — the CF 9's premium goes entirely to suspension and drivetrain. Fox 36 + GX AXS make the bike more capable, but the motor character remains: natural, quiet, cadence-dependent. At this spec level the SX feels perfectly matched to the platform's trail intent.
